Middle School students carried out a multidisciplinary project on the Beatles in recent months.
At the heart of the project is the song "Happy Xmas", a lay prayer written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
This song is now considered by everyone a symbol of Christmas, but our students, thanks to the work done by teachers from different disciplines, were able to study it in all its characteristics.
During the History hours, both the historical context in which this song was born - the protest of the Vietnam war - and the value of peace, equality and solidarity between peoples that it wants to transmit to us was highlighted and explored.
During music lessons students discovered who the Beatles were and tried to create different ways of interpreting “Happy Xmas” with the guitar, then playing and singing it.
The song has also become the tool for the creation, with the support of the Music Technology teacher, of a new tech version, created with autotune, thanks to the recorded, cut and edited students’ voices.
